As
a consultant I was engaged to develop a business continuity application that
tied the hospitals physical hardware, its associated applications, their
associated departments, and technical personnel together.
The importance of this project was to bring together the business
requirements and business functionality of the hospitals 64 disparate computing
systems.
In this way, when the hospital went through an IT infrastructure
retooling or a request was made to add another application, then the Business
Continuity database could be accessed to determine if there was a solution
already in place.
Other functionalities of this database allowed for the reduction of
duplicated work between departments and ensured the accurate deployment of
technical expertise to resolve system problems.
